White Radish Supplier in Turkey: Import Guide

White Radish Supplier in Turkey: Import Guide
ArticlesSeptember 21, 2026·4 min read

A white radish supplier needs one decision from the buyer before anything else: leaves on or leaves off. That choice changes how the product looks on the shelf and how long it can wait in your cold room. Hatipoğlu Tarım is an exporter and supplier of fresh fruit and vegetables based in Antalya and active since 2002; it ships white radish as a seasonal line from October to April. Importers, wholesalers and retail buyers will find here the season, the selection criteria, the two presentations, the published storage data, the crate, the customs code and the way to a quotation.

White radish from Turkey: a seasonal root

White radish is known for a pale root, a crisp texture and a balanced aroma. It is one of three winter radishes in the company’s range. The long, straight type is covered in our guide to Vezir radish, and the dark-skinned one in the guide to black radish.

Season: October to April

Supply covers the months from October to April. It is a seasonal product, so a white radish wholesale programme is best agreed before the season opens. Buyers who combine roots can look at carrots, which are available all year.

Harvest maturity and selection

The root is harvested at a suitable stage of maturity, before its tissue turns woody. Selection then rests on three points:

  • Size: roots are selected by size; give your range in the order.
  • Root integrity: whole, unbroken, without cracks.
  • Internal quality: crisp flesh through the whole root.

Internal quality is the criterion a buyer cannot see from outside. The data UC Davis publishes for radish explain what goes wrong: an over-mature radish becomes pithy and develops a harsh flavour, and slow growth leads to woody texture and high pungency. When a first delivery arrives, cutting a few roots lengthwise is a quick way to check this.

Bunched or topped: two presentations

All roots are washed. After that, the pack follows the market: white radish is packed either in bunches with the leaves on, or topped. State your preference in the enquiry. According to the same published data, the leaves of bunched radish may yellow during long storage, which is worth weighing if your goods spend time in a warehouse before sale.

Published storage data for daikon-type radish

The figures here are research data from UC Davis, quoted with their source, and should not be read as the company’s own practice. For radish the published conditions are 0 °C and 95–100% relative humidity, and rapid cooling is described as essential for storage potential. In the data published for daikon-type radish, which is the long white type closest to this product, roots can keep for 3–4 months under those conditions. Radish is not sensitive to ethylene.

In transport, radish belongs with the vegetables that travel near 0 °C in high humidity: cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, carrot and sweet corn. They can be loaded together. The article on the cold chain in fresh produce export gives the general rules.

Crate and HS code

White radish is packed in ventilated plastic crates of 30 × 40 × 14 cm. The crates stand on 80 × 120 cm euro pallets. Give the volume you need in crates or in pallets.

Radishes are classified under HS 0706.90 (six digits). Please have the full tariff line confirmed by your customs broker before the consignment is shipped.

Certificates and residue checks

The company works under ISO 9001, ISO 22000, ISO 10002, GLOBALG.A.P. IFA and GRASP. Any lot shipped to Europe is tested for residues first. Two background articles: EU pesticide MRLs and which certificates European buyers require.

How Turkish radish reaches you: six steps

Turkish radish from Hatipoğlu Tarım passes through harvest, cooling, grading, packing, cold storage and dispatch, with washing done before the roots are packed. One refrigerated truck of the standard 13.60 m length carries 33 euro pallets, and shipments are planned on that basis.
