Plum Black Birton

Black plums carry a pale bloom on the skin, and keeping that bloom intact is most of the packing job — it is what tells a buyer the fruit has not been rubbed, tipped or repacked.

The crop runs from June through September. Fruit is picked firm, cooled the same day, and packed once, in the case it will travel in.
