Banana

Turkish bananas grow under glass along the Anamur–Alanya strip, which is why they are available every month of the year rather than seasonally. The fruit is shorter and denser than the tropical import, with a firmer bite.

Bunches are cut green, dehanded in the packhouse and moved into ripening rooms or shipped green, depending on where the buyer wants the ripening to happen. Temperature is held steady throughout — banana is the least forgiving fruit we handle about cold shock.
