Avocado

Avocado is the newest crop on the Antalya coast and one of the fastest growing. The groves between Kumluca and Gazipaşa give fruit from October to March, filling the gap when European supply leans on imports from further away.

Avocado is picked hard and ripens off the tree, which makes handling the whole game: fruit is field-graded for dry matter, cooled, and shipped unripe so the buyer controls the ripening himself.
