Orange Washington

Washington Navel is the early orange — on the trees from November, gone by February. Seedless, easy to peel, with the small secondary fruit at the blossom end that gives the variety its name.

It is a table orange, not a juice orange: the juice turns bitter within hours of pressing, so it is sold to be eaten. Fruit is sized tightly and packed loose or in single layers.
